Marlon Brando was born on April 3, 1924, in Omaha, Nebraska. He studied in New York City and first achieved fame in the movie version of "A Streetcar Named Desire." For several years, he was the leading film actor, with repeated nominations for Oscars. His appearance as a motorcycle gang leader in "The Wild Bunch" represented a teen movie of a genre starkly different from the Disney teen movies that appeared in the 1960`s and later.
For the modern film viewer, Brando is probably best known for his role as the Godfather in the first of the three films of the Godfather series.
