Founded in 1887, the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana is the largest Protestant congregation in America. It is also home to the world’s largest Sunday school. The church, apart from its normal functioning, hosts an annual Youth Conference for teenagers from all across America and organizes special events for its members, such as Old Fashioned Day. It also runs a Pastors' School for pastors from around the world, and a Bible School for children in the area. Fundamental Baptist Missions International, First Baptist Church Deaf Ministry, City Baptist Schools, and Hyles Publications are some of the ministries affiliated with the church. First Baptist is located 1/2 mile east of Stateline Avenue on Sibley Street, between Hohman Avenue and Sohl Avenue.
