Anderson County Arts Center

Anderson County Arts Center, located in Anderson, South Carolina, has been promoting and fostering art since 1972.

Over the years, it has catered to art lovers of all ages. Apart from holding regular exhibitions, the arts center organizes special events and festivals, which are aimed at local patrons. Regular exhibitions and artist support programs have helped in attracting newer businesses for the local community.

Anderson County Arts Center is housed in the historic Carnegie Library. It is a center for visual and performing arts. Special classes are held for both children and adults. Workshops and demos based on current exhibits are a regular feature of the center.

One of the favorites for children is the Summer Art Camp, which caters to the four-to-13 age group. This annual camp is a fine blend of serious art work and creative fun.

The arts center is also a valued venue for hosting birthday parties. The parties are usually based on themes that are popular with the children. Additionally, there are party activities such as glaze and fire pottery competitions and face-painting contests.

Each year, Anderson County Arts Center features the work of international and national artists. These exhibits also include the creations of local artists. Additionally, art auctions are held each year to foster local talents.

The center regularly holds art sessions for the general public on the premises. For those unable to attend sessions at the center, there is a facility for off-site sessions in seven different locations.

Anderson County Arts Center through its educational programs, has served more than 50,000 children to date, through programs such as Arts School, Summer Art Camp, and Artists-in-Education, which is sponsored by the South Carolina Arts Commission.

By fostering and nurturing local talent, the art center has become a matter of pride for the county.
