NEEDS HISTORICAL CONTENT Georgia Regional Hospital in Augusta, Georgia is one of the two facilities of East Central Georgia Hospital (ECRH), another being at Gracewood. This licensed, state-supported hospital is under the Georgia State Department of Human Resources, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Addictive Diseases (MHDDAD). Since 1969, Georgia Regional has been serving the people with mental illness or developmental disabilities. The multi-purpose psychiatric medical facility is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the Federal Healthcare Financing Administration (Medicare). Georgia Regional stands foremost in all aspects of therapeutic services including activity and horticultural therapy, psychological, dietary, forensic, rehabilitation, and spiritual services.
