Located in the dynamic city of Omaha, Nebraska, the College of St. Mary is a private Catholic college dedicated to the education of women, in an environment that calls forth potential and fosters leadership. It offers excellent academics that combine professional and career preparation with the liberal arts. Founded in 1923 by the Sisters of Mercy, the College of St. Mary is the only all-women's college in a five-state region. Initially, it was located in the old Continental Hotel at 15th and Castelar Streets. Later, it moved to its present location at Mercy Road. In 1958, the College of Saint Mary became a four-year fully accredited college. The college offers associate and bachelors degrees in more than 30 areas of study, including pre-professional programs in six fields. In addition, it offers evening classes and CSM Saturday College, as well as classes on CSM's Lincoln Campus - a community of adult learners. It offers minor programs with specialization in nursing, natural and health sciences, mathematics, humanities, community resources, and business. Major programs include business administration, paralegal studies, health information management, computer information management, telecommunications systems management, education, and occupational therapy. Career services, dining services, computer center, the CSM achievement center, Information Center, and residence hall are some of the services and facilities provided at the college. The College of Saint Mary Flames is a member of the NAIA. Sports at the College of Saint Mary include Intercollegiate Basketball, Cross-country, Soccer, Softball, and Volleyball. The college library provides materials which include reference books, online and print journal articles, and course-related books and media. Rental facilities to host a wedding reception, business meeting, banquet, seminar, holiday party, summer camp, or conference are available. The Lied Fitness Center, meeting space, theater with seating for 250, and dance floor are some of the rental facilities provided at the campus. The Express Center on campus provides financial services to eligible students.
